Jan 25, 2012- Istanbul, TURKEY – ERGIL Group, a worldwide leader in engineering, construction and manufacturing for oil, gas, water, chemical and petrochemical industries is proud to announce that AZMECO Azerbaijan Methanol Company has chosen ERGIL Engineering & Construction™ for complete fire fighting system, storage tank floating roofs, equipment design, engineering, fabrication and installation for the biggest methanol plant in the region.

AZMECO currently comprises two major phases as a part of its master plan to invest in Azerbaijan: the Karadagh Methanol Plant and the Ammonia, Urea and Plant. The Karadagh Plant capacity is above 1700 metric tons per day and will further increase after the completion of the second phase. The objective of the second phase is to set up production of ammonia, urea and formaldehyde. Purge gas from the methanol plant will be fed into the ammonia unit with additional natural gas feed to produce 1000 metric tons of ammonia, which will then be converted into urea and some other value added, niche products. A formaldehyde plant with production capacity of 40.000 metric tons per annum will be established at the same site. Currently ERGIL is near completion of the Phase One, and Phase Two continues successfully despite adverse weather conditions.
