Self-Priming Gas Cleaning with a High-Velocity Liquid Jet
Ergil manufactures eductor venturi scrubbers that clean process gas with a high-velocity liquid jet. The jet pulls gas into the venturi throat, mixes it with scrubbing liquid and removes soluble gases, vapors and fine particles in one step. The scrubber moves the gas by itself, so it needs no fan on the gas side. It suits corrosive, sticky and dusty streams that foul packed beds.
Eductor Principle
A recirculation pump sends liquid through a nozzle. The jet creates suction and pulls gas into the venturi. Intense mixing transfers contaminants into the liquid. Gas and liquid then separate in the vessel.
System Components
Jet nozzle and venturi, separator vessel, mist eliminator, recirculation pump, liquid tank or sump, piping, instruments. Heat exchanger for hot service.
Contaminant Removal
Absorbs soluble gases such as HCl, HF, NH₃, SO₂ and acid mists with water or chemical solutions. Captures particles down to around 1 micron. Efficiency depends on solubility and liquid ratio.
Liquid Chemistry
Water, caustic, acid or oxidizing solutions. pH control and bleed keep scrubbing liquid effective. Dosing skid available.
Operating Parameters
Liquid-to-gas ratio higher than fan-driven venturis. Gas-side suction is modest, typically tens of millibar. Fits vent and low-pressure exhaust service.
No Fan Required
No gas-side rotating equipment. Lower electricity use at small gas flows. Fewer parts to service. Suited to hazardous vents.
Fouling Resistance
Open design with no packing or trays. Handles sticky, tarry and high-solids gas without plugging.
Materials of Construction
FRP, polypropylene, PVDF, stainless steel 316L or alloy for aggressive media. Rubber or glass lining on request.
Applications
Chemical vents, tank vents, pickling and etching fumes, fertilizer and acid plants, pharmaceutical exhaust, flue gas conditioning, process off-gas and odor control.
Instrumentation and Control
Liquid flow, pump pressure, level, pH and temperature control. Alarms for low flow and high liquid level.
Construction Standards
Design to ASME or EN pressure vessel codes where applicable, hydrotest, FAT, material certificates and documentation.
