FUEL GAS CONDITIONING SKID
Integrated Gas Treatment for Turbines and Burners
ERGIL manufactures fuel gas conditioning skids that prepare natural gas for turbines, boilers, and industrial burners by removing liquids, controlling pressure, adjusting temperature, and filtering contaminants. These packaged systems ensure fuel meets equipment specifications protecting combustion systems and optimizing performance.
System Configuration
Complete skids include inlet separator removing liquids and particulates, fuel gas heater preventing hydrate formation during pressure reduction, pressure regulating station with redundant control reducing high-pressure gas to burner requirements, coalescing filters capturing submicron droplets and solid particles, flow measurement for consumption monitoring, and PLC control panel with safety interlocks. Factory-assembled packages arrive tested minimizing field installation.
Process Functions
Inlet separation removes condensate and contaminants from gas supply. Heating prevents temperature drop during pressure reduction that could cause hydrate formation or freezing. Pressure regulation reduces pipeline or supply pressure to precise levels required by combustion equipment, typically 50-150 psig with tight control maintaining stable burner performance. Final filtration removes particles protecting fuel control valves and burner nozzles from plugging.
Applications
Gas turbine fuel conditioning for power generation and mechanical drive, industrial boiler fuel preparation, process heater and furnace fuel systems, reciprocating engine fuel treatment, and any application requiring clean dry fuel gas at controlled pressure and temperature. Serves power plants, refineries, chemical facilities, and manufacturing operations with flow rates 500-50,000 SCFH.
Control and Safety
Automated systems monitor and control pressure, temperature, and flow maintaining fuel specification. Redundant pressure regulation with monitor regulators provides backup protection. High and low-pressure alarms with automatic shutdown prevent equipment damage. Emergency isolation valves enable remote shutdown. Instrumentation integration with facility DCS or SCADA systems supports centralized monitoring and control.
Design Standards
Equipment per ASME B31.3 process piping, ASME Section VIII for pressure vessels, and NFPA codes for fuel gas systems. Materials selected for gas composition and operating conditions. Explosion-proof electrical systems for hazardous area classification. Seismic and structural design per site requirements. Complete documentation including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and testing records.
Performance Benefits
Protects expensive turbines and burners from contamination extending equipment life. Stable fuel pressure ensures consistent combustion efficiency and emissions control. Prevents unplanned shutdowns from fuel quality issues. Compact skid design minimizes footprint with modular components enabling future modifications. Proven components ensure reliable long-term operation with minimal maintenance requirements.
ERGIL fuel gas conditioning skids deliver dependable fuel preparation with integrated treatment ensuring optimal combustion equipment performance and protection.
