Drain Systems
Closed Drain Drums
Engineered Containment for Safe Process Drainage
Closed drain drums are pressure vessels that collect and temporarily store hazardous process fluids during equipment maintenance and operational drainage. By eliminating atmospheric exposure, these systems prevent VOC emissions, toxic gas releases, and ensure environmental compliance in oil & gas, petrochemical, and refinery operations.
ERGIL Engineering Excellence
With 40+ years of pressure vessel manufacturing expertise and a state-of-the-art 35,000 m² facility in Mersin, Turkey, ERGIL delivers closed drain drums engineered to ASME Section VIII Division 1 standards with full U-stamp certification. Our in-house design capabilities combine advanced simulation software with decades of project experience, ensuring optimal sizing, materials selection, and system integration for your specific drainage requirements.
Every ERGIL closed drain drum features comprehensive internal design including demister pads for vapor-liquid separation, vortex breakers at pump suction, and anti-surge baffles—all manufactured in-house without sub-vendors. This complete control over internals design and fabrication ensures superior performance and reliability.
Safety and Environmental Performance
Closed drain systems eliminate up to 98% of VOC emissions compared to open configurations, preventing toxic releases including H₂S, benzene, and mercaptans. Pressure-rated construction (minimum 100 psig to 400+ psig) eliminates rupture risk, while integrated safety instrumentation with redundant level switches and high-level alarms prevents overflow scenarios. All systems include vent connections to flare headers for safe vapor disposal.
ERGIL Manufacturing Capabilities
Advanced Fabrication Technology: Our facility features fully automated welding equipment, CNC plasma cutting, shot-blasting systems, and dedicated fabrication halls for carbon steel and stainless steel products. In-house hydrostatic testing capabilities handle pressures up to 300 bar with comprehensive NDT including 100% radiographic examination of critical welds.
Materials Expertise: ERGIL manufactures closed drain drums in carbon steel (SA-516 Grade 70), stainless steel (304, 316, 316L), and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 compliant materials for sour service. Our quality control team ensures full material traceability and compliance with international standards.
Complete System Integration: ERGIL provides turnkey solutions including vessel body, instrumentation packages (level transmitters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors), 2×100% capacity pump systems, control panels, piping, structural supports, and skid-mounted configurations. Mobile or permanent frames enable flexible installation and future relocation if needed.
Design Features
Manufactured to ASME Section VIII Division 1 with full U-stamp certification, ERGIL closed drain drums handle all process drainage including separator drains, pump seal fluids, PSV discharge liquids, and equipment maintenance streams. Gravity-driven flow through permanent pipework directs fluids to the collection drum where comprehensive instrumentation monitors levels and process conditions.
Standard packages include differential pressure or radar level transmitters, multiple level switches (LLL, LAL, LAH, LSHH), and integrated pump systems with automatic level-controlled operation ensuring 20-30 minute drawdown during peak maintenance activities.
