FUEL UNLOADING SKIDS
Safe and Metered Tanker Unloading to Storage
Ergil manufactures fuel unloading skids that move diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and fuel oil from road tankers or rail cars into storage tanks. Pump, strainer, filter, meter and safety devices sit on one skid frame, piped and wired at the factory. Operators connect hoses and power, and unloading starts. The skid keeps product clean, measured and under control from the first delivery.
Skid Components
Inlet connection and strainer, unloading pump, air eliminator, filter or filter separator, flow meter, check and isolation valves, pressure relief, outlet to tank header. Local control panel.
Pump Selection
Centrifugal pumps for low-viscosity fuels. Gear or screw pumps for heavy fuel oil and viscous products. Self-priming option for suction lift. Flow range from 20 to 150 m³/h per skid.
Filtration
Strainer protects the pump. Fine filter or coalescer removes particles and free water. Jet fuel versions use filter water separators with differential pressure gauges and sampling points.
Metering
Positive displacement, turbine or Coriolis meter with local totalizer. Signal output to terminal automation or inventory system. Custody transfer accuracy on request.
Air Elimination
Air eliminator prevents false meter readings and pump cavitation when tankers empty. Vent returns to a safe location.
Safety Systems
Static grounding check with permissive interlock. Emergency stop. Overfill signal from tank. Surge relief. Drip tray for spill containment. Flame arrestors on vents where required.
Hazardous Area Design
Electrical equipment suited to Zone 1 or Zone 2 (ATEX/IECEx) or Class I Div 1/2. Bonding and grounding on every metallic part.
Materials
Carbon steel for diesel and gasoline. Stainless steel for jet fuel and aviation service. Fuel-resistant seals and hoses.
Applications
Fuel depots, airports, power plants, generator stations, mining sites, ports, industrial plants and truck stops.
Operation and Maintenance
Single control panel. Front access to filters and pump. Skid frame with lifting lugs for fast placement.
Construction Standards
Piping to ASME B31.3, welding procedures, hydrotest, FAT with water or fuel simulant, documentation pack.
