VERTICAL PRESSURE LEAF FILTER SYSTEM
Pressurized Solid-Liquid Filtration
ERGIL builds vertical pressure leaf filter systems combining pressure vessel, filter elements, and controls for efficient solid-liquid separation. These complete packages provide automated filtration cycles removing solids from process streams with high throughput in compact footprint.
System Components
Pressure vessel housing vertical filter leaves, slurry feed pump, filtrate collection system, compressed air or gas for cake discharge, control panel managing cycles, piping and valves coordinating flows, and solids discharge mechanism. Integrated package ready for installation.
Pressure Filtration
Operating at 50-200 psig drives liquid through filter cake faster than gravity. Pressure differential overcomes cake resistance maintaining flow rate. Higher pressure enables thinner cakes or finer filtration. Enclosed system handles volatile or hazardous materials safely.
Leaf Configuration
Vertical filter leaves with cloth or mesh media provide large surface area. Typical vessels contain 10-100 leaves depending on capacity. Leaf spacing accommodates cake thickness typically 10-50mm. Vertical orientation allows gravity-assisted solids discharge after filtering.
Automated Operation
Control system manages filtration cycle automatically. Filling phase admits slurry. Filtering phase continues until pressure drop limit or timer. Cleaning phase discharges cake using air blow or wash. Drain phase prepares for next cycle. Fully automated operation requires minimal supervision.
Cake Discharge Methods
Gas blow dislodges dry cake from leaves. Vibration or bumping assists release. Wash spray removes sticky solids. Rotating leaves pass discharge zone continuously. Method selection depends on cake properties and product recovery requirements.
Applications
Chemical catalyst recovery with product wash, wastewater treatment solids removal, mining tailings dewatering, pharmaceutical API isolation, food processing clarification, and any batch or continuous process requiring pressure filtration.
Material Selection
Stainless steel 304/316 for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical service. Carbon steel for mild applications. Alloy construction for corrosive streams. Filter media materials compatible with process chemistry and temperature.
Filtrate Quality
Achieves clarity from 1-50 microns depending on media selection. Precoat materials enable fine filtration below 1 micron. Multiple stages possible for ultra-clean filtrate. Quality monitoring ensures specification compliance.
System Integration
Interfaces with upstream process providing slurry feed. Filtrate routes to downstream processing. Solids discharge to collection or disposal. Control system coordinates with facility automation. Skid-mounted package simplifies installation.
Performance Benefits
High filtration area in small footprint. Automated cycles reduce labor. Pressure operation increases throughput. Enclosed design handles hazardous materials. Proven reliable technology across industries.
Construction Standards
Pressure vessel per ASME Section VIII. Electrical systems per applicable codes. Materials for process service. Filter elements per manufacturer specifications. Complete package documentation with performance guarantees.
