HP FUEL GAS SCRUBBER
High-Pressure Contaminant Removal for Gas Turbines
ERGIL manufactures high-pressure fuel gas scrubbers that remove particulates, liquids, and contaminants from natural gas at elevated pressures serving gas turbines and high-pressure combustion systems. These filtration vessels operate at 300-1500 psig ensuring clean fuel delivery protecting turbine components and maintaining emissions compliance.
High-Pressure Operation
Gas turbines require fuel at pressures matching combustor conditions typically 300-600 psig for industrial turbines and up to 1500 psig for aero-derivative units. HP scrubbers operate at supply pressure removing contaminants before final pressure regulation preventing fouling of expensive fuel control valves, nozzles, and combustion hardware.
Vessel Design
Vertical pressure vessel with multi-stage filtration including coarse strainer removing large debris, cartridge filters capturing particles above 5 microns, coalescing elements separating liquid droplets and oil mist, and optional chemical media for H₂S removal. Heavy-wall construction handles high operating pressures. ERGIL sizes scrubbers based on turbine fuel demand and pressure conditions.
Filtration Performance
Removes iron oxide scale, weld slag, pipe debris from transmission lines, compressor lubricant carryover, condensed hydrocarbons, and water protecting turbine fuel systems. Achieves outlet cleanliness meeting turbine manufacturer specifications typically 5-10 micron particle size. Coalescing stages reduce liquid content preventing fuel system icing and combustion issues.
Material Selection
Carbon steel or stainless steel construction with heavy wall thickness for high-pressure service. Materials per ASME Section VIII Division 1 or Division 2 for extreme pressures. Filter housings accommodate element replacement under pressure isolation. Design includes proper corrosion allowances and impact testing where required.
Applications
Gas turbine fuel conditioning for power generation and mechanical drive, high-pressure industrial burner fuel treatment, pipeline compressor station fuel supply, and any high-pressure combustion requiring clean fuel gas. Serves facilities with fuel demands 5,000-500,000 SCFH at elevated pressures.
Control Features
Differential pressure monitoring across filter stages indicates element loading. Automatic liquid drains remove coalesced condensate. High differential pressure alarms signal maintenance requirements. Integration with turbine fuel systems enables coordinated operation and monitoring.
Performance Benefits
Protects expensive turbine hardware from erosion, corrosion, and fouling. Maintains fuel system reliability reducing unplanned outages. Extends filter element life through staged filtration. Heavy-duty construction ensures safe high-pressure operation. Proven technology in critical power generation applications.
Construction Standards
Design per ASME Section VIII with appropriate division for operating pressure. Materials rated for high-pressure fuel gas service. Electrical systems for hazardous classification. Relief valve protection sized per API 520. Complete documentation with design calculations and material certifications.
ERGIL HP fuel gas scrubbers deliver dependable high-pressure contaminant removal ensuring clean fuel supply protecting gas turbine investments and maintaining reliable power generation.
